So, you *think* it's always easy for me?

I’m one of the Top Tupperware recruiters in US and Canada, huh? Then why is it that I have no recruits during one of the best recruiting months of the year? This is the question I have been asking myself for over a week now. I’m asking myself this question more and more… as the end of the month gets closer and closer. Why? What am I doing wrong? Why? Why? Why?

I know there are people out there who *think* this business comes naturally to me. I’m a skilled recruiter. I have the perfect personality. This business is easy for me. I want you to know—that is simply not true. I believe that nothing truly comes easy for anyone. I want you to realize that I have parties that cancel, events that seem like duds and interview new folks who say “no”—just like you! Might I suggest that when I have 3 recruits in a month, it’s because I asked 27 people to join my team. And even on an amazing month, like September, I’ve asked around that many to join my team—and have gotten a lot of “maybes” and “I’ll think about its” along with several “no’s”. Have you asked 27 people to join your team—in your entire career?

So, on Monday and Wednesday, I shared that I have no recruits. My peer leaders looked to me for ideas for recruiting, this month. I couldn’t give them any tips—because I had ZERO. With only 3 days left in the sales month—I have zero! 0. Goose Egg. Natha. Nuttin’ Honey.

Later today, however, I mentioned recruiting (just like I always do). I simply offered. With no more confidence than when I talked to my very first recruit, mind you. Confidence is lacking, at the moment. BUT-- guess what? I found 2 new fabulous team members, today! One visited my website and the other was a fabulous host who had 4 parties dated! (She’s smart to go to those parties to make money—not spend it)

Guess what else? I answered my office phone at around 10:30pm tonight… and it was a gal who needed her 2 Qt pitcher replaced. Now, ask yourself right now---would that annoy you? I asked her: “Is there anyone selling TW in Anderson?” Her answer was “no”… and she finished my thought. She said “You know, maybe I should do it…?” She will be a guest at our next team meeting.

Since 10am this morning, my situation has changed. I have 2 new recruits and 1 potential. A few hours, a little persistence and sharing makes a difference. It ain’t over ‘til it’s over!

So, what’s my “secret” to recruiting? I, honestly, thought I might have lost my talent… at about 9am. But by noon and 8pm, I was back on my game! Why? Because I asked. I offered. I DID NOT GIVE UP! I realized that I have 2 ½ days left in this month and I’m going to put them to good use! I am consistently offering this amazing life-changing opportunity to everyone I know! Because without Tupperware, I would not be:

• Homeschooling my kids

• My husband would not be able to be home, while sick

• I wouldn’t be able to take tomorrow off, just because it’s my daughter’s 4th birthday

• And I wouldn’t be able to work all day in my PJ’s

• Have new and old friends that have changed my life

• Just to name a few (we won’t mention the car, the trips, the jewelry)

And the one thing I want you to take away from this little blog is this: We all have bad days. Sometimes they turn to weeks. From weeks to Months. But, those who succeed in anything… will be the ones who persist through the hard times. And as they trudge along, will come through the storm into a ray of sunshine!

(I would like to dedicate this to my new friend, Tami. She knows exactly what it’s like to trudge through a storm… and I’m praying she finds her sunshine soon.)

Tammy Hornek: Hi Robilyn! (What a fantastic name!) Of course you can! (Did you know, your f/f can have 14-16 gifts for less than $9 by splitting up the All Together Set?) Just start offering--that's when they have the opportunity to answer "yes"! hehe!
